Shrewsbury is located in the county of Shropshire is on the border of north Wales and is bordered by Cheshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire & Worcestershire. Shropshire is approximately 3 hours from London, an hour or so from Manchester and about 45 minutes from Birmingham.
By Car - If using Sat Nav - SY2 6BS
Shrewsbury connects to the M6 and motorway network via the M54. The A49, A5, A53, A458 all make Shrewsbury easily accessible.

By Rail
Shrewsbury is linked by a regular main line rail service.

By Air
The nearest airports to Shrewsbury are located in Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester and are all approximately an hour away. Birmingham and Manchester airports also connect to a mainline rail network.

By Water
Although Shrewsbury is inland, the town is well serviced by Britain's extensive waterways.
The Shropshire Union Canal is Shropshire's main canal running from Ellesmere Port to Wolverhampton.
Shropshire's other canals include the Montgomery canal and the Llangollen canal.

Also running in part through Shrewsbury's lush scenery is the famous meandering river Severn. Forming a loop around our county town, a river trip on the crystal clear water is the perfect way to see the town.

Shrewsbury Park and Ride -
If using Park and Ride the route into town coming nearest the Abbey is from the Meole Brace Park and Ride
If you are visiting Shrewsbury for the day or staying out of town you will find the excellent Park and Ride service is a cheap and convenient way of getting into the town centre.
There are three Park and Ride sites - Harlescott serving the north and east, Meole Brace serving the south and Oxon for visitors from the west of town. Parking is free, although there is a return bus fare of £1.40.
Harlescott Livestock Market - Get off at Dogpole or High Street for Shrewsbury Abbey
Monday - Saturday, every 10 minutes 7.30am (8.00am Saturdays)
- 6.30pm
Stops at: Railway Station, Castle Street, Dogpole, High Street,
Shoplatch, Barker Street and Chester Street.
Meole Brace Retail Park - Get off at Old Potts Way for Shrewsbury Abbey
Monday - Saturday, every 10 minutes 7.30am (8.00am Saturdays)
- 6.30pm
Stops at: Old Potts Way, Wyle Cop, High Street, Shoplatch,
Barker Street, Chester Street, Railway Station, Castle Street,
Dogpole and English Bridge.
Oxon - Get off at Dogpole or High Street for Shrewsbury Abbey
Monday - Saturday, every 10 minutes 7.30am (8.00am Saturdays)
- 6.30pm
Stops at: Frankwell, Chester Street, Railway Station, Castle
Street, Dogpole, High Street, Shoplatch and Barker Street.
Parking is also available in the Local Authority car park immediately opposite the Abbey - parking fees apply
