Key Stage Two Tours and activities

The following tours are available for children in Key stage 2.

Exploring Signs and Symbols

This tour is particularly suitable for children in Years 3 and 4.

KSQ 2:10 How and when are symbols used in Christianity? What do they mean?
It can also be used with the QCA material-

Description of the Tour

The tour starts with a brief power point presentation about Christian signs and symbols. The children then go on a guided search around the Abbey in small groups. Each group has a large plan of the Abbey with stickers to add as they go round.
After the tour they are offered a drink and a biscuit.

Timing: About 1 hour 30 minutes in total.

Cost: £1 per child

Guided Tours for older Key Stage 2 children
We also offer guided tours of the Abbey with workbooks for the children. The children learn about some of the history of the Abbey as well as how it is used today as a place of Christian worship.
This tour is particularly suitable for children in Year5 using the QCA scheme of work "What do places of worship teach us about Christianity?"

Timing: About 1 hour 45 minutes in total.

Cost: £1 per child, includes workbook and drink
