Shrewsbury Abbey

Sponsor an Abbey Pipe

As part of Shrewsbury Abbey Renaissance we are planning to restore the 1911 William Hill Organ and to include the 7 additional ‘stops’ which were in the original design but were never completed. If we are going to do this we really will have to........

To restore the organ we will have to raise 500,000. You can help by sponsoring a pipe: from a giant 16 footer to a tiny half inch--we have nearly 2500 pipes to be sponsored in this incredible instrument.

In return for your sponsorship we will send you a certificate and details of the pipe(s) you have sponsored. You will also be kept up-to-date with the project’s progress and will be invited to an exclusive celebratory performance once the organ has been restored. If your donation is of 1,000 or more you will also be invited for a private tour of the organ once it has been restored.

You can sponsor an Abbey Pipe in one of two ways:

  • Firstly, a one-off donation;

  • Secondly, a Standing Order over one, two or three years.

ANY donation is appreciated, and can be dropped off or mailed to: Shrewsbury Abbey Renaissance (Sponsor-an-Abbey-pipe), Abbey Office, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, SY2 6BS.

However, if you'd like to make a standing contribution to support music at Shrewsbury Abbey, we have a Direct Debit program, with schemes starting from as low as 25. Please drop by, call us, or email at manager@shrewsburyabbey.com for additional details or to receive a Standing Order form.

The most important thing to remember is that your donation – whether large or small – will help to return a Premier League instrument to the heart of cultural life of Shrewsbury and the wider Shropshire communities.

If you are a UK taxpayer, PLEASE GIFT AID YOUR DONATION by filling in the declaration included on the form. Be sure to include your Post Code and sign the declaration.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
