Visit Us

Shrewsbury Abbey is open 365 days of the year, however we do suggest you check opening times as there are regular services, weddings, funerals and all the activities of a normal Church of England Parish Church. As the Abbey is dependent on volunteers in order to remain open there may be rare occasions when it is not open during normal hours.

There is NO CHARGE for visiting the Abbey.

Just occasionally we may have a Concert or an Exhibition which will attract a charge.

Opening Hours:

Summer (April - October) : 10am - 4pm (last entrace 3.45pm)

Winter (November - March) : 10.30am - 3.00pm (last entrance 2.45)

Group Visits:

We have a number of experienced guides and can accommodate group visits by arrangement with the office.

If you would like refreshments to be available for a group visit these can be arranged for an appropriate fee.

School Visits:

We welcome school visits. We do recommend schools contact us as we have a range of 'age-appropriate' activities.

Whilst there is no charge for normal visits we do welcome donations which may be 'Gift Aided'
