The Revd Christopher Sims
Chris Sims was appointed as Priest in Charge of the Abbey and
St. Peter's Church in September 2003. He was made Vicar of the parish
in November 2007 and appointed Rural Dean of Shrewsbury in January
2008
He was a school teacher in the West Midlands before training for
the ordained ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford in 1977.
He subsequently served in parishes in Birmingham, Carlisle and
the Lake District. His experience of parish ministry has therefore
been in the inner city, suburbia and the countryside. His particular
concerns are for Christians to engage with the world in mission
and evangelism. The primary calling of all God's people is to be
people of prayer. Prayer lies at the heart of discovering God's
will and purpose for us and releasing His power to change us and
transform society.
