To say we have been blown us away is no exaggeration. \nAs you might imagine\, Gerard’s engagement diary is pretty much solid\, however we have managed to find a date – 31st October – when the people of Shrewsbury and Shropshire can experience his extraordinary sound. \nTickets will be on sale shortly. DESCRIPTION:North Wales Opera returns to its Shrewsbury ‘home’ to present Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. The Abbey will be transformed with a raised platform and expert lighting to create intense drama accompanied by talented singers and Shrewsbury’s very own Ensemble SY1 live orchestra. \nAnne Williams-King (Director of North Wales Opera) travelled the globe singing the title role in this opera to great acclaim and has directed a beautifully traditional portrayal of this opera. It takes a heart of stone not to be moved by the great tragedy of this story\, which is so enriched by the composition. Everyone will have heard the humming chorus and the “Un bel di” (One fine day).
