POETRY TO MARK HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY
A recital of poems from the Holocaust and other genocides.
On Holocaust Memorial Day we remember the victims of the Nazi regime from 1933 to 1945, when 6 million Jews were systematically murdered, as were thousands of disabled people, Roma people, gay men, political opponents of the Nazis, and many others.
We will hear poems by and about the victims of the Holocaust.
Genocide did not stop in 1945, and so we will also recall more recent events in Rwanda, Darfur, and elsewhere.
By listening to these poems, we can make sure that the voices of those who were victims of genocide, and of those who speak out against genocide, are not silenced.
(This event will take place on 26th January, the day before Holocaust Memorial Day.)
