SATURDAYS AT NOON – DAVON HALIM (ORGAN)

We welcome Davon Halim of Christ’s College, Cambridge, to give a recital on the Abbey’s 1911 Hill organ.
Davon is currently Senior Organ Scholar at Christ’s College, where he is also a third-year mathematics student. He is currently studying organ with Ann Elise Smoot, and during his time in Cambridge has given various recitals including at the chapels of King’s College, Queens’ College and Trinity College.
Before coming to Cambridge, Davon played at St Mary’s Church, Acton Burnell whilst a student at Concord College, and studied organ with Tony Pinel, during which time he received a Commendation in the 2020 School Organists’ Association Young Organists’ Competition (Advanced category).
As an organ scholar, Davon plays for the two services of choral evensong each week, and conducts the choir when the Director of Music is away, most notably during the second half of the choir’s annual summer tours. He has also accompanied the choir in other external events, most recently at the “Christmas with Christ’s” event at Temple Church, London in December 2023.
