" One of the UK's most exciting emerging composers, Matthew is a charismatic and engaging choral leader. His music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Scala Radio, and recorded by professional ensembles including The Choir of Royal Holloway, The Queen's Six and RSVP Voices.

16 September is WI Day! The first WI meeting in Britain took place on 16 September 1915 at Llanfair PG on Anglesey. Shrewsbury Abbey is delighted to host this event, which will be a showcase for the 100+ Shropshire WI branches and include refreshments and entertainment. More details nearer the time.

As part of our Saturdays at Noon 2023 series, we are delighted to welcome Peter King, Organist Emeritus of Bath Abbey, who will give a recital on the restored 1911 William Hill organ of Shrewsbury Abbey. A retiring collection will be taken in aid of the Abbey Organ Fund. Parking right opposite the Abbey in Abbey Foregate car park.

CHARITY CHAMBER RECITAL IN AID OF MACMILLAN

Enjoy a recital by some of the very talented musicians from Shrewsbury School. Everyone is very welcome to attend Choral Evensong or join us for refreshments and the recital.  Admission to both is free. The recital will last about an hour and there is a retiring collection.
